Join PWC’s retired executive director, Gail Abrams, on a nocturnal hike at Mason Farm Biological Reserve. Resident owls are getting ready to mate and are therefore more active and engaging this time of year. Gail will do her best owl impressions in hopes of getting a reply. If you’re lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of a wild owl. Learn all about owls, their habitats, and enjoy a rare chance to explore Mason Farm Biological Reserve after dark. After the hike, you will also get to meet PWC’s owl ambassadors and learn how they came to live at PWC. This is eligible for 2 hours of Criteria II credit for the NC Environmental Education Certification Program.
Ages 7+, must be able to walk slowly along a flat, 1.5-mi, unpaved path at night, with the possibility of very cold temperatures.
