2023 Annual Kwanzaa Celebration - Town of Cary

*The event has already taken place on this date: Fri, 12/29/2023
Join in Cary's Kwanzaa Celebration at the Cary Arts Center! Cary Kwanzaa is a communal, cultural celebration that honors African-American people and their heritage. This program will feature the best the Triangle has to offer in traditional Kwanzaa performers and presenters that embrace African culture through dance, drumming, storytelling, and the visual arts. It will highlight how these professionals developed into the stalwart cultural icons and entrepreneurs that they are. Most importantly, they will present this in the spirit of Ujamaa – Cooperative Economics – as a means of encouraging community support of these traditions and the youth to consider similar paths of creative productivity. BrainStemology and BUMP the Triangle will provide STEM and art immersion to engage youth of all ages. BUMP youth will also provide a performance of children’s perspective on the Nguzo Saba – The Seven Principles of Kwanzaa.
