Join the Museum for a day of messy exploration September 29, 2019!
We’re capping off Take A Child Outside week with a celebration of all things messy. From mud to finger paint and slime to sand, we’ll have lots of sensory hands-on play that’s anything but tidy. Dance on a pool of oobleck or help contribute to a collaborative painting project. Blow bubbles, paint your own face, make a mud pie—the choice is yours, just get your hands dirty. This event won’t be neat, but it will be cool!
Most messy activities occur in outdoor spaces, weather permitting. We recommend families bring a change of clothes or come dressed for messy play, but how messy you get is up to you! Several outdoor exhibits have washing stations or changing areas.
