2021 Track or Treat: Halloween Express -Triangle's Train: New Hope Valley Railway

On Saturdays October 16, 23, and 30, visitors to the all-volunteer New Hope Valley Railway can enjoy a kid-friendly train ride complete with scenes of flying witches, smoking cauldrons, large pumpkin faces, Count Dracula and other friendly creatures along the route. Passengers can also play Mummy Mayhem, a game where riders search for 13 mummies hidden along the train tracks.

Trains depart each ride ride day at 2:45 pm, 4:00 pm, 5:15 pm, 6:30 pm. and 7:45 pm.
In the rail yard, families can listen to songs by the popular singing pumpkins, take advantage of the many photo opportunities and watch model trains zip around the Garden Railway. Our gift shop will also be open.
Halloween costumes are encouraged for passengers of all ages.
Excursions typically last about an hour with trains departing from NHVR's rail yard in Bonsal and traveling eight miles round trip. Passengers are encouraged to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their train departure time.
NHVR's rail yard is located 30 minutes from Raleigh off Old U.S. 1 South on the Wake-Chatham county line.
New Hope Valley Railway is the operating division of the North Carolina Railway Museum, Inc. The museum and railway are operated by all-volunteers.
