U-pick flowers at Firefly Farm

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 07/31/2021
Firefly Farm is open for U-pick flower sessions! You are invited to purchase a timed session in our online store to reserve your spot to pick flowers from several patches of flowers in bloom (or you may buy the ticket at the farm). On the day and time of your flower picking session, we ask that you meet us at the barn. Supplies will be provided. Your virtual ticket is good for the day and time selected as picking sessions are based on current flower availability.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

We will set you up with a basket to carry flowers and scissors to harvest the flowers. Please wear comfortable walking shoes. You may spend your time wandering the farm, going from flower patch to flower patch. You may also say hello to the horses and miniature donkeys. Even the chickens will come running to say hello. There are also trails you may choose to explore, including the pasture walk and the newly opened pond walk. Bring a picnic and hangout on the farm. A restroom is available at the barn.

The cost is $15/basket. You will be able to harvest enough flowers to make several arrangements. Once you have finished picking flowers, meet us back at the barn where we will wrap up your flowers for the trip home. You may also pick out a jar to display the flowers. We do recommend that you bring a bucket of water for the flowers to sit in for the ride home.

We have sessions available at a variety of times to meet your needs. Flowers are freshest in the early morning and later in the evening as the heat of the sun can cause some drooping. No matter when you pick your flowers, we do recommend that you allow your flowers to sit in water for several hours in a cool place. Then the flowers will be ready for arranging and you will be able to tell which ones will work best. Discard any wilted flowers if they have not recovered after sitting.

We are open the following hours beginning May 8: Wednesdays 3-6 pm, Thursdays 9-11 am and 3-6 pm, Fridays 9-11 am and 3-6 pm and Saturdays 9a-5 pm.
