Big Sweep Spring 2023- Lake Wheeler Park

Come help cleanup Lake Wheeler Park! Big Sweep is partnering with City of Raleigh-Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources to get out on the trails, parking lots, picnic areas and open spaces of the park to rid it of harmful litter. We need you to help us cleanup and keep our watershed clean! This is even more imperative in this location because Lake Wheeler is a direct drinking water resource for the residents of Raleigh. Volunteers will meet at the Waterfront Program Center deck area to check in for the event. Clean up will cover the park grounds as well as the shoreline of the lake and pond areas. Wear appropriate clothing such as sneakers or hiking shoes. Drinking water, sunscreen, and a hat are recommended. All supplies will be provided.

If you are a group registering, a group leader must email prvolunteer@raleighnc.gov to register. All groups will be required to provide a list of names and emails for their volunteers.
Volunteers must be at least 12 years old to volunteer. Adults must register and accompany minors under the age of 18. Everyone, including accompanying adults, must sign two waivers- one for the City of Raleigh and one for Big Sweep. If volunteer is under the age of 18, then a parent or guardian must sign their form.
