Country Soul Songbook: Juneteenth Jamboree - The Cary Theater

Music is your birthright. Your voice belongs as it is, you belong as you are. We can’t be afraid and sing at the same time. These are the tenets and principles that guide Samantha Rise, a non-binary songcatcher and performer based in Philadelphia. Join us in joy for an evening of singing and celebration as Sam Rise takes the stage with our friends from Country Soul Songbook. Sam’s exploration of community and activism, brought through gorgeous vocals and powerful lyrics, touch on themes of gender, race and class with eyes open and a curious heart. Their calls to action are powerful reminders of work to be done and hope to cultivate. Country Soul Songbook comes back to The Cary and supports Sam, as well as encouraging some fine sing along opportunities and a few featured solos from leaders Kamara Thomas and Kym Register. See you there!
