VIRTUAL EVENT: Mission: Code
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sun, 05/31/2020
Mission: CODE engages and teaches children the fundamental building blocks of programming in a manner that is challenging, yet rewarding! Students use a fun, tile based language to put programming concepts to use in order to achieve game objectives.
In the game, students practice the programming concepts they have learned from their Mad Science instructor. They get immediate feedback on the solution they have found. The progress tool shows how well students have mastered the programming concepts in the game and the lessons can be adjusted accordingly. Each student has at-home access to the year 1 class content and game for 1 year so that they can continue to play and practice the coding skills they have learned.
Mission: Code works best in (and in some setups requires) the most recent versions of Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera, and Internet Explorer 11+. Mission: Code works on computers, laptops, Chromebooks and tablets through browser access.
Please note the class date listed above is merely a placeholder and once you register, Mad Science will send you access to our Mission: Code instructional videos via Google Drive shared files. Have questions? You can simply comment on the video and we will be able to see and respond quickly!
We will also send you your individual login info for our platform shortly after registration. You may change these details and this login will be active for one year after created.
Year 1 consists of 10 separate missions, we recommend splitting these up into 1-2 sessions per week. Some kids may want or need to spend more time completing each session as there are many bonus opportunities available, others may want to progress quickly!
