Explore nature and learn how to draw from real-life observations. Each day we will search Prairie Ridge’s ponds, streams and prairie for plants and wildlife to inspire your creativity. Local artist and educator, Courtney Cappa, will show you how to illustrate scientific drawings of plants and animals using contemporary watercolor techniques. You will even learn about color theory and start your own portfolio!

You will even learn about color theory and start your own portfolio! A kit of professional art supplies and sketchbook are included in the camp fee.

 

All children must be dropped-off and picked-up at Prairie Ridge Ecostation; the field station of the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. No transportation is available between the Museum and Prairie Ridge Ecostation.

 

This camp is for rising 4-5 grade. This camp runs July 13-17.
