Join us live for this holiday favorite ballet - The Nutcracker, with the traditional score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. We are thrilled to be back at the Cary Arts Center, Dec 17-19 and hope you can support us!
Featuring music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, ‘The Nutcracker’ begins Christmas Eve with the tale of a young girl named Clara and her beloved Godfather, Drosselmeyer. They journey from her family’s celebration into a magical and fantastical dreamworld of a prince and fairies. There are wind-up living dolls, a duel with the Mouse Queen, a sleigh ride through the magical snow forest, reaching the land of sweets. There are pirouetting flowers, Hot Chocolate, Coffee, Tea, Polichinelles and of course a Sugarplum Fairy.
It’s a holiday tradition like no other -- and this year, in addition to the full-length shows, there are two one-hour narrated mini-matinee for kids of all ages. These special 11am shows share how the ballet comes to life from studio to stage.
Following the Sat, Dec 18th, 11 a.m. performance, join Cary Ballet Company for a special Ballerina Tea. Enjoy decorating a tea cup and take photos with featured ballerinas. Leave with a wrapped favor from the show. This event is for boys and girls. Ballerina Tea Tickets are for children only and are $10 sold separately directly at The Cary Box Office.
