Arts classes

Students will be working with the widely known and popular plastic LEGO building blocks, including the more specialized pieces such as axles, gears, beams, wheels, motors, microcomputers, pneumatics and other parts that will enable them to safely create animated and exciting mechanical movements and other effects. The LEGO Technic System has been adopted as the standard material for robotic designers, because of their sophisticated and powerful set of mechanical design components. The fact that they can be disassembled and reconfigured as necessary is essential in testing, design, and instruction.

We connect the natural world through programs like bird watching, astronomy nights, nature play, and art classes.

All our classes are in the evening after 4.30 pm. We offer Saturday classes too.

Game analysis, opening strategy, tactics-training, and puzzle solving skills are just some of the fun things we cover in chess class. All ages 5 and up, and complete beginners welcome too. We also review how the pieces move and piece development .

Early Years leads efforts to strengthen accessible and affordable high-quality early care and education by providing support for families, communities and the workforce.

The After School program in grades 1 - 8 offers play and activities from 3:00-5:45 pm Monday through Friday. Registration is required. Students enjoy free time on the playground, indoor games, cooking, drawing, and crafts.

Glenn McCarty works as a creative writing teacher, where he gets to talk about books and mentor young writers on a daily basis.

Throughout 90-day increments, teens not only learn the building blocks needed to become successful entrepreneurs but are also taught life skills that will help them be competent competitors in the 21st Century Global Society. Teens begin phase one of the program: Financial Literacy. During this phase, we assist them with opening bank accounts and teach them about cryptocurrency and the stock market etc. Phase Two: World Travels consists of teens applying for their passports and them learning about different cultures from local world travelers. Lastly, Phase Three: Life Preparation focuses on the importance of having life insurance and the financial benefits of having it while still alive. After successful completion of the program, students will use the Train the Trainer model to teach the next future class of entrepreneurs the knowledge and skills they've learned. This will allow graduates to sharpen their skills as presenters and give back to their P.O.O.F Community.

We offered Mandarin Language classes from Pre-K to 12th Grade on Saturdays from 9:30am - 11:30am. We also offer adult Mandarin class - beginner, Intermediate and advance during the same time. We offered cultural classes from 11:30am - 12:30pm.

The programs can be customized based on the number of students, the age of the children, and time allotment, and can be broken down into individual classes, such as superheroes, Minecraft, robotics, video game design, general STEAM, and much more.

All virtual classes cover pronunciation, vocabulary, new phrases, practical grammar, and culture through activities, videos, games, songs and other fun presentation elements.

Spark Math helps students enjoy learning math. This program uses Singapore Math curriculum which is adopted by most private schools. The Spark Math curriculum helps students advance at least 6 months ahead of the math curriculum at public schools.

WakeTogether is a collaborative effort of multiple community partners working together to accelerate learning for students through high dosage tutoring in response to addressing the impact of the pandemic on student learning.
